Helping Children Manage Energy

Etheric energy—the electro-magnetic field around the body—provides chi, prana, or juice to all physical organs. Emotions can negatively impact and weaken solid etheric energy if it is negative, tense, or prolonged. I imagine the result to be a ragged energy field with holes throughout, which doesn’t have a strong enough electrical charge to provide juice for the physical body. Weaker etheric energy doesn’t provide strength to physical organs. Weaker physical organs appears in children having specific mental or emotions symptoms.
Let’s look at some of the correlation between the physical body’s organs and their energetic counterparts.
Fear or anxiety – controlled by kidneys
Sorrow and loss – controlled by lungs
Feelings of worry or obsession - controlled by spleen
Anger, jealousy, irritation, and depression – controlled by liver.
The most formative time in our lives is from birth through puberty. During this period, we form our basic responses to life. It is absolutely crucial that we connect with children through shared activities like walking, reading books, gardening, bike riding, and playing. Conversations where real dialogue is shared are also crucial.
Here are some other tips for helping children manage their energy:

Play

·         Avoid allergenic foods that cause organ inflammation, such as gluten does to colon lining, and yeasty foods to the intestines.
·         Herbal teas can increase energy or relax children or help them digest food and breathe better.
·         Parents who give Bach Flower Remedies® to their children are amazed by the positive effect the Remedies have on their children; screaming children find sudden relief, shy and fearful children find courage, impatient and angry children find peace.
·         Acupuncture and classical eastern homeopathy work well in healing individual organs like kidneys or offering liver and lymph support.
When children play, they use fantasy and creativity. They imagine and act out the roles they will grow into as adults. The word “imagination” means we create the “image” of what we are to become. Children need unstructured time for imaginative play. They also need free time to discover who they are in an intimate, personal way.
Play also empowers them to be curious and learn to negotiate their environments safely. So, let children play--and play with them!

Schedules

Children perform best when they have regular schedules or understand expectations. These activities create a secure framework for a child if they are done each day.
Brain research shows that multi-tasking fatigues the brain. You create a chronic stress pattern if you repeat this kind of overload. So no doing homework, watching TV, texting and eating dinner in the same 30-minute period.

Spirituality

  • Find your own spiritual perspective.
  • Share your thoughts about the “big” questions in life with your child. This gives them a means of embracing their experience.
  • You promote your health for the mental, emotional and etheric energies and their interactions.
Now that you understand the whole child—the basic structures of the mind and body and the interface of etheric energy and emotions—what questions do you have for Dr. Goode? Please ask your question as a comment below this post. You may contact Dr. Goode at http://live-spirit.com/contact-us/.

Flowers

By K Perry, 9 years old

Oh flowers, oh flowers
I can smell them for
Hours it seems
Like they have special
Powers.

Oh roses bringing their
Scent to our noses.
I always have to water
them with the hoses.

Oh, daisy please
Get rid of your lazies.
Now that you have
Got rid of your lazies
You have crazies!

Oh these flowers
Have special powers
It must take hours
To have the powers.

A First Book Report

My granddaughter is in the fourth grade. She wrote her first book report and I would like to share it with you.

The guidelines were:
Paragraph 1- Character description (2 qualities)
Paragraph 2-Summarize Main Events
Paragraph 3- Rate this book (include your opinion)

Book Report: Molly Learns a Lesson
by K Perry

Molly is a girl who is working on knitting socks, but it turns out to be a blanket. She is a nice, kind, generous girl who’s at home in the war that’s going on in England.

Molly Learns a Lesson is about a 9 year old girl who’s doing a lend-a-hand project for the war which her father’s in. She misses him awfully much.

I would recommend this book for ages 8-10 because these are great books with fabulous word choices like: dragged, whispers, squeaked & signal. There is also figurative language like: the kitchen smelled like warm raisins. Also it might have some habits too!

Children Feel the Energy of Places & People

Mt. Shasta, the Himalayas, Sedona, and other places around the world have a high vortex of extraordinary energy that many people can feel when they are there. As empaths, we can feel energy anywhere—good, bad, or indifferent. We even feel the energy at the Wal-Mart or grocery store. Kids are energy sensitive and they pick up all kinds of detrimental energy--especially when they are in a public setting.

Your child may be acting out in public because he feels overwhelmed and doesn't know how to deal with energy overload. He may feel physically tired, emotionally drained, and unable to express to you why he is crying, feeling angry, greedy, or selfish. You only have to look at the adults around you to see them expressing sorrow, fatigue, worry, or other negative feelings.

When some empaths (adult or child) walk into a shopping center they may suddenly get very sluggish because the energy is very heavy whenever people are making a lot of choices. Decisions about spending money may generate a feeling of lack, anger, or fear. They see someone wearing a nice outfit and perhaps there is jealousy. There are a lot of negative or lower vibrations in public places—some tend to have more harmful or uncomfortable unpleasant energies than others. But, sensitive people can feel all of it.

It’s important to focus on the positive, uplifting energy of your own divinity within you whenever you are in public. Think of how you feel the wonderful divine energy when you are in the beauty of nature! Mentally go there to rejuvenate and renew yourself by feeling grateful, blessed, loved, and happy. Then, visualize a protective bubble around your child and ask that the angels guard him from being bombarded by negative energy.

By spending five minutes in your Sacred Heart Center before you leave home, you can carry this high-vibrational energetic signature with you all day. It will beam forth from your heart full of love. A cup that is overflowing cannot receive anything more, it must spill over. And, since your fullness is from an unlimited Source, you never have to run dry; you and your child can continually be filled with Spirit.

Things Parents Do for/to Their Children

Our name has a propensity towards setting up certain experiences or challenges that we will have in life. When our parents picked our name it wasn’t random. Something from their soul or heart essence had a connection, or remembrance, or a feeling that their child would have certain needs or interests and they picked a suitable name. It is innately that we do this for our children.

We all possess intuitive and innate healing wisdom. It is a sixth sense that allows us to maneuver through this world. Unfortunately, in the process of what we call socialization we make this connection look less important than it is and we try to discourage it because we don’t want our children to think they’re different.

All children have a very strong sense of these feelings and connections; and sometimes they are told  they shouldn’t talk about things like that. They may be told to be quiet lest people think they are different. Innocently many parents do this to their children. Most of this comes from the topic of psychic gifts not being accepted as a valid concept by people who are very religious.

Do your children exhibit spiritual gifts?
How are you helping them manage this type of energy?

Leave a comment and let’s chat.

Helping Empathic Children Adjust in Families

by Caron Goode

Experts agree that happy children share characteristics like optimism and a sense of control. How can parents create a supportive family atmosphere to create successful intuitive children? This chapter starts with how to provide support for the emotional empath and help them develop calm and resilience.
  • Our support goal for an emotional empath is to strengthen emotional energy, especially of the heart.
  • Our second support goal is to empower resilience so they can interact with the environment, not withdraw from it.
  • A third support goal is to monitor and maintain an emotionally healthy atmosphere in your home.
An empath’s vulnerability can also be their challenge in an emotionally toxic home where they have to learn to cut off their feelings so they can survive.

The primary home environment provides the first stable space in which an empathic child learns to value personal feelings and how to interpret the emotional atmosphere of the home. Margaret’ story shows how a psychic, sensitive, or empathic child can interpret a parent’s emotions, and her decision as a child affected her relationship with her father significantly.

Margaret’s was empathic, and she came from a large Italian family of seven children. All were talkative and emotionally expressive. Her family had a celebration for Margaret’s First Communion day and invited relatives and members of the church community. It was normal to see the men in her family drinking beer and sometimes wine at these family celebrations.

In the late afternoon, Margaret’s observed her father’s emotional energy for the first time: “I kept staring at Dad because I had never seen like storm clouds around him before. Usually Dad was all sunshine and smiles. I was seeing my father’s aura. His alcoholic haze looked like dark clouds, and his mood was angry. Even though I was used to his booming Italian voice, when his emotional tone changed to anger, his voice matched the dark clouds seen by my young eyes. I was confused and that day was the start of my withdrawal from his energy. Being in touch with his dark stormy emotions made me feel sick to my stomach. My father’s alcoholism grew through the years, and our relationship withered.”

Rather than Margaret withdrawing from her father to feel safe, another option would be to create communication and understanding between them—a path of resilience for Margaret. Research from The International Resilience Project reviewed what we mentioned in chapter one: “A child's own genetic make-up and temperament are fundamental to whether he or she will be resilient. That is, a child's vulnerability to anxiety, challenges, stress or unfamiliarity determines his or her self-perception, how he or she interacts with others, and how he or she addresses adversities.”

An emotional empath like Margaret needs an adult in the family to model acceptance of other’s differences. A mentor, whether a parent, sibling, neighbor or schoolteacher can help sensitive children negotiate adversity by talking about it. For example an adult could help Margaret clarify that her dad only looked foggy when drinking alcohol. How did his energy appear at other times? Perhaps Margaret could have brought to his attention the fact that his children did not respond well to the anger and alcohol mix. Conversations have to happen!!

Over and Above!

My granddaughter, Keilie, is in the fourth grade.  She had an assignment to write a paper using all of her spelling words beginning with over. Her paper was chosen as the *winner* of the class. I typed it up to share with you today.

My Bad Day
By Keilie Perry

When I came home I had an overdue library book and an overworked project. I tried to bake cookies and I overcooked them too. I traveled to the grocery store and bought some strawberries but when I got home they were overripe! A couple minutes later I got thirsty and I poured some water and it overflowed! I went to water the flowers and I accidentally watered weeds and they have overgrown to the sky. So I fell to sleep and when I woke up I got my overcoat on to go out. I ran out of gas so I walked inside to pay for gas and got a piece of candy. I ate it and got overactive. I zoomed all the way out to the car! I really wanted a dog so I twirled all the way to the pet shop. I saw an overweight cat right next to the dog I wanted. I named my dog Lucky. When I came home my house was over populated with friends and family because it was family reunion day!

How To Connect With An Empathic Child After Distress

by Dr Caron Goode

At age ten, empathic Tess experienced a sudden and abrupt disconnect from her mom, which would affect her for the rest of her life. One day her mom was hugging her after school and teaching her how to cut vegetables. The next day, her Mom did not see her, but looked past her with a distant gaze, spaced-out eyes. Mom told Tess that the voices in her head told her to pull the plugs out of the walls.

Such a rapid disconnection from her mom was worse than losing her mom to death in Tess’ eyes. Rather than being able to say goodbye, Tess had to renegotiate the emotional environment with her mom still alive, yet not present.

Tess was empathic. She felt as her mom felt, and had no way to talk about it or understand it. The result was that Tess withdrew, cried and felt isolated and hurt.

Tess felt threatened by her mom’s withdrawal. She also loved her Mom, so Tess split her attention in half. One half stayed hidden inside a sensitive heart, protecting and armoring. One half re-learned how to live in a home with her mother’s mental illness, diagnosed as Schizoid Affective disorder. Tess was on constant psychic alert.

An intuitive cannot sustain the long-term division of attention in a situation such as Tess experienced without negative emotional consequences. Have you ever walked forward in life while trying to watch your back every two minutes? It would distort your attention and create tension in the same way emotional intensity or trauma strike empathic children. Empathic children will
  • Internalize the toxic feeling that they are the burden
  • Feel inadequate or unloved and turn the messages into negative self-talk.
  • Feel inconsequential, like they have no power or resources in their environment.

These adversarial moments are also brilliant opportunities for developing flexibility and strength rather than being resigned. Help your children develop habits of coping so they become self-confident and trust their intuitive intelligence.

Tess’ therapist had her close her eyes, relax, and go back to age ten when she disconnected from the Mom she knew. Tess felt a giant creature standing beside her left shoulder much like a Wookiee of the Star Wars epics. This imaginary friend became Tess’ protector. She could hide behind him to feel safe, and could control her world in this way. This was a resilience creation, which let Tess control her inner world when she couldn’t control the outer environment.

How An Empathic Child Can Self-Soothe

by Dr. Caron Goode

Through empathic touch, you teach an intuitive child to trust his sense of feeling and his body’s messages. By pairing touch with empathy you teach the child to calm himself, a trait that every teacher who labels a child hyperactive is seeking. When a child touches his own heart, laying the palm to rest on the chest, he harmonizes his energy and synchronizes the body’s rhythm. He brings chaos to comfort and distractions to center.

Holding your child next to your heart is the most effective way to feel strength. Heart to heart hugs look like cradling the child in your lap, his back to your chest or kneeling down to your child’s level and embracing her heart to yours. Rocking also creates a calm state for younger children. A child can also place his hand on his heart and settle into the feeling of it for several seconds to produce calm.

Tender loving touch is important throughout one’s entire life, especially for the empath. In the developing embryo, a layer of cells called the ectoderm produces the skin and the nervous system. In this concrete physiological connection, touch provides “food” to the nervous system for the human to experience.

Purposeful, empathic touch to regulate and support an empathic child’s physiology tells the nervous system to be resilient and calm.

Empowering the Caregiver of Children with Autism

As soon as the awareness of a child with autism clicks in at about age seven or eight, all kinds of things start to unravel and unfold for them. Half of what they have played out or mirrored prior to this age is all of our sadness and guilt that may have come from somebody saying that an autistic child is disordered. That’s not very comforting when this happens to be your child.  If we understand that autistic individuals are new souls trying to take on a human body for the first time, you will realize that they are functioning in a very right brained way for a very good reason. When we realize this, empowerment comes for the parent or the teacher or therapist.  There is a connection made at the level of heart, the level of pure love, without worry. It is beyond what you can see, feel, touch, taste.
These children have a lot to say about their ability to be here. They will stay very aware and focused on the unseen realm until these other pieces fall into place. Their vibration is much lighter and faster. Diet causes density at a physical level. Some of the things that we take into our physical bodies are very toxic but some of us have learned to adapt. These new individuals have not learned how to adapt.  They are very sensitive to those kinds of things.  Their digestive tracks are very sensitive.  Also it is very difficult for these individuals to connect with somebody who is in a place of fear, worry, concern, or guilt because that energy is very heavy and very dense.  More often than not parents, teachers, therapists, whoever is working with these children note changes when around this type of energy or food substances.
YOUR TURN: What has your experience been regarding food and autistic children? Do you see a difference when a healthy diet is maintained over a junk food diet?
Join us tomorrow on this blog for another segment of Suzy Miller’s discussion on how to communicate with autistic children.
This post is based on a presentation given during “Empaths Shifting into 2012: A Telesummit to Help Energy-Sensitive People Understand Their Spiritual Role on Earth.” Suzy Miller is the author of AWESOMISM!:  A New Way to Understand the Diagnosis of Autism. Thought Forms are Tangible Objects to Autistic Children

It is not uncommon for a teacher to have some disgruntled thoughts about the child diagnosed with autism. She or he may be thinking—not even articulating it aloud— “Hmmm, I wish this kid would not come to school today because he’s really difficult to deal with.” You know the thoughts that we keep in the privacy of our own mind sometimes.  But an individual, who is very energy sensitive or energetically aware, can sense or even hear this thought even after the teacher is no longer in the room. It could have been the day before, but that thought form is still lingering in the classroom.
Thought forms are actually tangible to somebody who is accessing that level of information.  So the child comes into the room and doesn’t want to be there. He may even feel a little hostility as he senses this negative energy. He may start clinging to his mother’s leg, not wanting her to leave because he’s is in the midst of this uncomfortable energy. If we understand this, we can use this to our benefit in creating lovely thought-filled balanced environments so these children are excited to come in and see what might be in front of them for that day. I don’t think most of us really grasp this concept even when we are seeing them energetically or when we can feel them and their presence. We have a tendency to still be a little bit out of the scope of where these kids actually are.
Suzy Miller is the author of AWESOMISM: A New Way to Understand the Diagnosis of Autism. After a 22-year career as a pediatric speech language pathologist, Suzy met a four-year old child diagnosed with autism who was destined to change not only the way she viewed autism, but life in general. She says, “I’ve had a lot of individuals who work energetically with this population and a lot of times they will say to me, “There’s so much negativity. There’s so much heaviness.  There so much this or that.” And actually that is accurate but only to a point. This population absorbs and reflects energy. They are mirrors of energy—especially those who are nonverbal. Sometimes this is the only way they can show or express what they are experiencing. They mirror not necessarily what is physically going on in the physical environment but what is going energetically in the environment.
This creates a huge shift in consciousness when we understand that we have an individual sitting right in front of us who is giving us a brilliant read out of the more subtle aspects of ourselves.  We miss these things all the time in our day-in day-out experience. When we hang out with these individuals, they are right there showing us whether our energy is calm or frenetic, when we are chaotic or sad.  They are able to monitor that.
When you look at these individuals energetically you will most often see the band of energy around them. That is the mirror.  These individuals don’t have a lot of their own karmic baggage or a lot of their own patterns needing to be released.  As a matter of fact, when I look at these children through the eyes of pure essence and I see who these kids really are, I notice they have a very difficult time getting into their physical bodies.  Many of these children have not had a physical human experience on Earth before so they don’t have a lot of history to bring with them.  Thus they become very clear and beautiful mirrors.  I know this to be true because every time this awareness is brought to the caregiver, parent, or teacher these adults are able to adjust their own thoughts and behavior and the behavior in the child stops immediately.
These children tell me frequently that just like most empaths are able to pick up the energy in their environment and sometimes put it into their bodies; these children do that as well.  But they do not put it into their left brained mental process. As soon as an experience is over, it’s over for them. We as the parent or caregiver may feel that the child is upset so we try to fix the problem. What ends up happening is that we add energy to the upset as we keep projecting thought and emotion while trying to fix the upset. The minute we stop trying to fix the upset, the child stops being upset because there’s nothing to mirror at that point.  I can’t tell you how many times that I as a speech language pathologist have watched a child’s behavior change as he or she goes from my presence to a parent’s presence, or go from their teacher’s presence to the presence of a child in the classroom. There is a different interaction—a different energy communication—in each scenario because they are mirroring what they sense in each scenario.
The communication is very difficult for them up until that time period.
YOUR TURN: Have you seen this mirroring take place with autistic children? If you work with this population, please leave a comment to let us know if you have tried observing a child with autism change behavior from the presence of one person to another.
Join us tomorrow on this blog for another segment of Suzy Miller’s discussion on how to communicate with autistic children.

The Heart –Stabilizing Solution for Empathic Children

by Dr. Caron Goode

“Heart Math’s findings point to the human heart as playing a key role in the intuitive process, and a recent study concludes the heart actually receives intuitive information faster than the brain— by a second or slightly more.”

Meantime, the empathic intuitive reads people’s emotions clearly, senses the underlying feelings and scans body language and facial features for congruence. What the empath tunes into may be comfortable or not, which underlies the need for emotional management skills for intuitive, empathic children.

Neuroscience has mapped how the whole brain processes information in four ways: feeling, sensing, intuition and thinking. New research from the psychology of heart transplants has shown us how intelligent hearts are emotional centers and make intelligent decisions for our comfort.

Empathic children can use this understanding to their benefit.

The heart and brain connection starts in-utero. From fetal heart cells grows a neural tube. The brain develops on the other end. Our heart grows connections with the brain and central nervous system and they communicate with each other constantly.

An intuitive child or parent can use the heart energy to gauge clarity of their feelings and how to interpret them.

 A calming exercise is a physical activity like breathing or a mental exercise like visualization that helps one relax.

 Calming is a basic survival skill, an absolute must-have tool, for an intuitive child, especially the empath. An intuitive listens to intuition best when calm, not rushed. A creative child learns best when he can focus calmly.

 A calm heart has a soothing influence on the brain and the whole central nervous system. Intuitive children can calm anxiety, excitation, or distraction easily. The following three strategies provide a calming influence and help an intuitive parent or child to focus better.

 Place their right palms on their chests and breathe slowly for several minutes. When they feel the neck and shoulders relax, they’ve arrived!

 Touching the heart, imagine an elevator in their heads. They enter the elevator when the doors open, push the heart-shaped button, and feel the movement down through the throat into the chest. The doors open, they step out into their heart and remain there in silence for a while.

 As a parent, teach your child to find answers in his heart and his head. Show him that logic and intuition are not opposites. As a teacher, Caron gathered large, flat river stones, and the students in her class either wrote or drew a head on one side and heart on the other. When they had to make a personal choice about studies or peer or family matters, they turned the stone face up on either side, and asked their head or heart as designated. They got to explore two answers: the logical and the intuitive, and then discussed options. This proactive way to help solve a problem is easily used by teachers or parents.

For further information, check out Raising Intuitive Children.

Divorced Parenting of Empathic Children

Due to divorce and joint custody arrangements, many children live in two environments. One may be orderly and calm. The other may be haphazard and chaotic. What is done with children in one home can carry over to the other. If one parent understands the empathic child’s sensitivity and the other doesn’t, it can create a huge discordant problem for the empathic child.
In working with parents who are separated or working out a divorce plan for their families, one parent might feed the child sugar and junk food and then send them to the other parent where it takes quite literally a week to help the child change their behavior and get back on course again.  It is imperative that parents teach their children how to take care of their own energy.  For example, there was one child high on the autism spectrum, who went to his father’s where he was teased for his sensitivity. He would go to bed in tears.  He wet the bed and the problem continued to escalate. The mom was a very savvy and smart woman, so rather than keeping him in the victim mode she quickly taught him resilience.  She taught him how to strip the bed before he could be teased.  She taught him how to wash his own sheets and make his bed again before they would jump on him for doing something wrong.  She basically taught him how to take care of himself and he did a very good job.  Definitely being in a home environment where there are emotional connections requires some very specific management.

Helping An Empathic Child Restore Strength

by Caron Goode

“A resilient child does not need all these features to be resilient, but one (set of skills) is not enough. Resilience results from a combination of these features.”

The International Resilience Project put forth A Guide to Promoting Resilience in Children: Strengthening the Human Spirit. In this book, the author, Goldberg, suggests that children can draw from three sources of resilience. The first is to know what is available to them. The second resource is their inner personal skills, and the third resource is the action they can take. The three resources are reflected in statements for each category:

I HAVE represents what is available in their environment.
I AM statements reflect the child’s resources.
I CAN statements represent what the child could do, what action feels right.

I HAVE
 A big brother who supports me and loves me.
 My dog, Max, who sleeps on my bed when I feel upset.
 My family who love me.

I AM
 A sensitive person who likes to help others.
 Happy most of the time
 Willing to be responsible for what I do

I CAN
 Share my feeling with my parents when I am overwhelmed.
 Shift my moods from sad to happy
 Take ten deep breaths to calm down and focus.

Should I Allow a Ghost to Stay Around My Child?

Recently I had a mom concerned about her 2-year-old son who began reporting that he was seeing a ghost at home. Then, he started saying the ghost was following them to public places. The child was terrified of the ghost. To me, this suggests that the entity is an earthbound spirit and not a spirit guide.

A young child with limited vocabulary typically doesn't make up stories like this. First of all, he has no reason to lie about what he sees or pretend to be afraid of a ghost—a term he probably has not heard in his daily experience. Should a parent be concerned about this? I would say yes—not because there is something to be afraid of, but because as a parent you want to know who is hanging around your child (regardless of whether they have a physical body or not) and what that ghost’s intentions are.

Dr. Caron Goode wrote a book, Kids Who See Ghosts. In it, she suggests that parents find out what purpose the ghost serves in your child’s life. If a spirit is an elder (ancestor) who is serving as a spirit guide, children are usually not afraid of them. If is it an earthbound spirit (most likely in cases when a child is terrified of the entity). Dr. Goode would ask questions such as these:

1. Do you as a parent want this spirit interacting or watching your son? Why or why not?
2. Does your son want the ghost around him? Why or why not?

As a parent (or anyone in a human body), you—not the ghost—have the ultimate authority in a situation like this. Just as if someone were trespassing on your property, you have every right to say whether or not this ghost can watch and follow your child around. I would advise you to do a compassionate release to permanently remove the spirit and help it cross over.

Dr. Goode and I, along with ghost clearing expert Ranoli, recorded a 60-minute audio on clearing your space of entities. In this discussion, Caron talks about why children see ghosts, and I share a few ghost stories and how my psychic grandson interacted with the spirit world when he was very young. You may purchase the MP3 at http://weare1inspirit.com/seminars/

Regardless of whether or not you get the MP3, I hope you will take action to keep this and other entities from attaching to your child's auric field.

Handle Empathic Children With Love in Emotionally Toxic Homes

By Caron Goode

Is your home emotionally toxic? That is…do you order your kids around, hit them, scream at them, forget to touch them with love, forget to be kind, ignore them when they cry or need you? Among the emotional factors that contribute to negative, even toxic, emotional atmospheres in homes are

  • Surprise or intense outbursts from anger or control issues.
  • Verbal putdowns or psychological bullying,
  • Physical abuse, including spanking, inappropriate sexual touching, and harassment.
  • Substance abuse and its vampire-like energy drain
  • Resentment, lack of respect and inappropriate behavior derived from bullying tactics like pushing, hitting, punching and knuckling the head.

Any child will buckle under when subjected to such behaviors, and for empathic or emotional intuitives who feel more profoundly than the average child, such behaviors can cripple or devastate. The potential for emotional harm inflicted on sensitive children has far larger ramifications than for other temperament styles.

Take extra care with empathic children for health, immune system strength, and the ability to develop resilience. They must build to be able to stand up for themselves or know when to withdraw. All children need a champion, and empathic children need an especially caring one.

Kellie had two younger brothers, and all three children were close growing up in a single parent household. All three children remember a household of humor, movies and popcorn, long walks and stories at bedtime during their preschool years. Kellie’s mother, Leslie, remarried when Kellie was nine years old, and her brothers were eight and seven. The tenor of their household changed from happy to distressful. Their stepfather argued with Leslie, worked at night and slept during the days, and children felt like they walked on eggshells.

One morning before school, Kellie’s brothers wrestled and broke an item in their living room. No one confessed to the crime, so Leslie put all three children in the bathroom, closed the door, and told them if one of them didn’t confess, she would have their father spank all three of them.

Well, no one confessed, but empathic Kellie was a nervous wreck after waiting in the bathroom for two hours for her stepfather to come home. Her bladder was full, and when her stepfather walked through the bathroom door with a belt in his hand, she broke down and sobbed. He made each child pull down their pants, lean over his lap, and he spanked them with the belt. Kellie urinated all over him, sobbed, and was in shock.

She turned white and fell to the floor at being assaulted. When she curled into a fetal position, her brothers ran to Leslie to report that something was wrong. Kellie was put to bed where she ran a fever for three days and vomited as if she had the flu. As an adult, Kellie described her impression as seeing the evil in her stepfather and feeling vulnerable when spanked, “I felt like I swallowed his violence, absorbed it like a sponge, so intensely that I fell ill. I had to purge my body through vomiting.” I had nightmares well into my teen years of being assaulted again. From that day forward, I hated that man and my mother for the way she dealt with a child’s simple mistake.”

Please remember, handle empathic children with care, respect and kindness.

Advice for Time Management

Is keeping an intuitive child on a schedule necessary?  They tend to operate from a place of “no time.” If time is an illusion, how do we make the most of it?
Many times the sensitive intuitive children who feel their way become very absorbed in their tasks, studies or artistic expression.  They are not strong attenders of time.  Sometimes in the feeling world of emotion the aspect of time is not anchored.  I answer a lot of that in the book, Raising Intuitive Children, which talks about this specific learning style- energy aware children.  For my own step son who had that issue, we had alarm clocks, yellow sticky notes that we put in his room.  We actually managed the environment to get him where he needed to go with a lot of time prompts including a little kitchen timer when he needed to be on a call for example or get out the door to a school function on time.  So to me, you have to build that in with these children if they are not time savvy.
Your turn to chime in. What questions do you have for Dr. Goode? Please ask your question as a comment below.

Educate Caregivers Regarding Your Empathic Child

Dr. Caron Goode talks about how to support empathic children. She suggests that parents be proactive and not wait for a situation to arise. Explain to teachers, babysitters, grandparents, and caregivers up front that your child has some unique qualities or energetic sensitivity that may be displayed while under their care. Depending upon the age of the child, I can be helpful to either 1.) Empower the child to take responsibility for some situations, or 2.) Educate the caregivers about what is going on with the child spiritually and energetically.
With a younger the child, the caregiver or babysitter has to be told what to expect. Such as in the case with kids who see ghosts.  There was a young native American child raised by his father and his grandmothers. When the child went to school, the father went to school to let the teacher know that if she had any questions about his behavior she should call the father directly.  You see, the boy has been raised by his grandmothers, but oh by the way his grandmothers have passed over. From an early age the boy was trained to speak to his spirit walker grandmothers.  They were with him; they raised him; they taught him how to do spiritual healing because he’s very much a young shaman in training.  The father went to the school and explained specifically that the boy will go up and put his hand on other children’s hearts to soothe them when they are hurt or cry.  One day the teacher came in after a car accident and the boy went up to her and touched her heart.  Because she had been told in advance, she knew what he was doing and she was very accepting of it.
It takes pro-action. We’ve got to help these kids get through. We’ve got to educate so other people can understand and accept them.  Be a champion communicator, get out there and help!

Why Are Autistic Children Non-Verbal Until Later in Life?

Then a lot of times children who have been nonverbal may all of a sudden find their voice, or they may find the ability to communicate through some kind of augmentative communication device but all of a sudden their own thoughts are flowing.  Riley, the first boy who communicated with me telepathically, once said, “Do you find it interesting that most of us don’t talk until we’re after the age of five, seven, sometimes not until nine?”
And I said, “Yes.”
He said, “We operate on a collective consciousness level. We have chosen it as part of our gift to humanity. We are breaking the pattern.” He was referring to the pattern Dr. Caron Goode talked about in her presentation in which the first seven to eight years of life where the child is being imprinted through the left hemisphere of the brain.
Until about seven or eight autistic children are not interested in the labels we give to things or how things should go together. They are functioning primarily in the right brain and are not privy to that type of imprinting.  We have a population of parents who have been told all kinds of just horrific things about autism. They are told it occurs because of their genes or because of their parenting styles. What I understand is that autism is very much based on individuals who are attempting to embody from a realm of very high frequency.  They are showing up in the area of spirit and working their way into their physical bodies and their requirement for working their way into the physical bodies is that the body and the mind be in alignment with who they are.  When that’s in place these individuals have a tendency to drop into their physical bodies with greater ease.  That’s not always the case, but nine times out of ten it does take place.

Exercises for Enhancing Empathic Skills in Children

Today we continue with a few key points from a presentation given by Dr. Caron Goode during a previous telesummit to train empaths. If you have a question you would like to ask her, please leave it as a comment below the article.
In Raising Intuitive Children, Dr. Caron Goode speaks about ways to practice psychic abilities.  When her daughter was young, Caron found opportunities to do intuitive exercises with her daughter.  They used to be people watchers in the mall.
Her daughter would say to her, “Boy, that person’s sad.”
And Caron would say, “What’s your sense about this?  Is your heart all the way over there in her space?  Are you feeling her sadness?  Do you need to pull your heart back?”
Her daughter would say, “I have to pull my heart back because I’m in her heart.”
Caron still uses this approach to train teenagers. She would take them into nature—a dolphin tour for example.  When the dolphins came up boats would rush over to see them. Some of the empathic teens with would cry because they were aware that the ship’s loud motors were scaring the dolphins.  So they got to understand nature by experiencing this through their empathy.  And in turn, she taught these kids to help the dolphins by directing energy in a positive way and enhance it through focus and building resilience. They learned to do this for themselves as well. They can enhance positive energy by placing their hand on their heart, and asking, “Is this healthy for me to feel this?  Is there something I need to do about it?” This teaches them to make heartfelt choices for their body.
Much peace can be gained by learning how to integrate everything we take in. We can do this by not overwhelming ourselves with food, addictions, thoughts, sensory stimuli and the like. The key to metabolism is balance.
Caron’s first approach is so simple, like conscious breathing, that people forget that they can do it any time and any place. Place your right hand on your heart center and place your consciousness there. If you have difficulty, take an elevator from your head down to your heart. Breathe and relax. Ten seconds and you’re done. The more intense or stressful the feeling, the longer the focus on the heart center, the balance point between upper and lower energy centers and also the regulator of the systems in the human body. The heart center regulates the body’s rhythms and makes this method very easy and effective.
From your heart and down the right arm extend specific energy pathways so that your right hand has more energy-giving points then the left hand. So the right hand goes on your heart, your child’s heart, or you can teach older children to center in this way. Caron’s counseling and coaching with those dealing with the emotional management through a Heartwise© method, and this is step one. You may contact Dr. Goode at http://live-spirit.com/contact-us/.
To help ground and transmute energy nature is the healing balm for human ailments. Why? Because of the common electromagnetic field. Put your feet on the earth and get grounded. Caron and her husband collect rocks and crystals. Quite by accident, a child in counseling sat on a rose quartz piece on the floor of my office. After several minutes, he said, “I feel better. All my fears went into the rock.” I used the technique with other children, and then started connecting and working with trees, from hugging to climbing to placing your back against the tree trunk until you can feel the sap. This is an empath adapting to the environment.
In the telesummit, Caron shared ways to accept, integrate, and transmute energy from the viewpoint of the classical or eastern medical philosophies. These touched on the following.
1.      Body and Mind and Energy
2.      Etheric Energy
3.      Mental Energy
4.      Emotion vs. Etheric Energy
5.      Body & Mind Connection
6.      Specific organs govern different mental and emotional processes

Earth Changes Affecting Empathic Children

The changes the Earth is going through are affecting empaths more than others. A few months ago Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas had a notable 2.4 earthquake.  Within 24 hours Dr. Caron Goode was in bed nauseated. She had to ask her husband Tom to realign the electromagnetic frequency of their home using rocks and crystals.  Caron notes that as she is working with children, she is seeing more acting out. Not aggression, seeming scattered, or unfocused thinking. Rather, she is noticing children who are able to see more into the other realms.  More and more children are seeing spirits and spirit walkers.  So the veil is definitely thinning.
She is also seeing young adults really ready to take on their mission, really ready to change their life, such as young adults wanting to go to Afghanistan, or making movies for environmental peace.  There’s a huge upswing of chaos and clarity on both ends of the spectrum.
In January, Yvonne Perry, Dr. Caron Goode, and Suzy Miller, will be sponsoring an entire telesummit on raising energy-aware empathic and sensitive children.  Caron’s book, Raising Intuitive Children, has chapters on the empathic child.  On livespirit.com a program called “Raising Intuitive Children” discusses the empathic child, gives emotional support, and teaches soothing a child to adapt to the environment. Caron also offers one-on-one personal coaching or training. You may contact Dr. Goode at http://live-spirit.com/contact-us/.
There are two events in the coming months that might interest the adult caregivers of empathic children.  One of them is the telesummit in November, which is for integrating whole heart consciousness. It helps move children and adults out of the fear belt into that space of unity; thereby helping empathic children feel calmer.  Also starting in January of next year, we’ll be offering coaching certifications for people who want to do intuitive coaching.  You can be certified and start a successful home-based business in this field.  If that calls to anyone who wants to become an intuitive coach for parents that want to be intuitive in their parenting, you may contact Dr. Goode at http://live-spirit.com/contact-us/
